Can I come to Camp of Champs as an Individual Camper or Coach?
YES! We welcome individual campers. You do not have to come with a school group to be a camper or coach. We have additional adult chaperones for all individual campers. Individual campers will be integrated into camp and you will fit right in and be formally welcomed by our staff and other campers and coaches. Attn Parents – you may drop your student off or fly your student in and we will pick them up and make sure they are taken care of for the week!
What do campers eat?
All meals will be served in the University cafeteria with a wide variety of healthy food options. If your child has special dietary requirements, please indicate their restrictions or needs on the Medical Information/Release Form.

How many students can attend camp with an adult sponsor?
We require one Adult Sponsor (over the age of 21) for every 15 students who attend camp. Camp of CHAMPS Coaches & Adult Staff will supervise all campers, along with the Adult Sponsors from their school or organization.
What kind of heath care facilities are there at camp?
Camp of CHAMPS will have a Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day. Our on-site facilities can handle basic first aid.
What paperwork do my parents need to fill out before I come to camp?
Campers and their parents need to fill out and sign the registration form, medical information form and legal release and mail them in with payment to the Camp of CHAMPS.
Will I get to see my friends at camp?
YES!!! Students will be placed on a "team" with students from other schools.. The "teams" will be together for Success Tool Training Sessions, and Leadership Building Games and Activities. Students will then work with others from their school as they develop a Campus/Community Action Plan. In addition, there will be free time and activities where campers can visit with classmates, as well as friends they have made at camp.
May I request who I have for a roommate?
Rooming assignments will be arranged by each school/organization's sponsor and the Camp Facilities Coordinator. Let your sponsor know of any special considerations you may have when you register. Campers who come without a group will be assigned a room with other campers of the same gender and age.
Do I need to bring any spending money to camp?
It is not necessary to bring money to camp, but there are vending machines in the dormitories if you want a small amount for snacks in the evening.
How can my parents contact me while I am at camp?
Campers may bring their cell phones and use them at the end of the day's activities. Also there are pay-phones which you can use prepaid phone cards. If you have an emergency, please call our office at 1-888-629-0179 and we will get the message to your child immediately.
How many of the camp activities will be held outside?
Based on our experience in the "Texas Heat Wave", we have chosen the university setting for the Camp of CHAMPS. We will have space in the Student Center (inside with AC) for our Success Tool Training Sessions and "team" activities and breakout sessions. Some of the games and team building activities will be held outside (weather permitting).
